WDC recognizes paraprofessionals, Jan. 25-31
During the week of January 25 to 31, Wadena-Deer Creek Schools is recognizing the contributions of their paraprofessionals throughout the school district. Paraprofessionals work with students on a daily basis and make a difference in their lives.
Gov. Mark Dayton proclaimed the week of Jan. 25 to 31 as “Paraprofessional Recognition Week.” Oftentimes referred to as education assistants, paraprofessionals are an integral part of Wadena-Deer Creek’s school system, said Superintendent Lee Westrum.
Paraprofessionals are individuals who work in a variety of positions throughout WDC’s preschool, elementary, middle/high school and Kids Krew. They include student-support paraprofessionals, Title 1 paraprofessionals, special-education paraprofessionals, lunch room and playground assistants, hall monitors, media-center assistants, nursing and more.
