MN Twins warm our Wolverine hearts
The MN Twins Caravan stopped by Wadena-Deer Creek Middle/High School Tuesday morning where high fives, hugs and laughter filled the gymnasium! Hall of Famer Bert Blyleven, Twins legend Tony Oliva, current players Trevor Plouffe and Jordan Schafer; radio broadcaster Cory Provus and TC Bear brought smiles to K-12 students, staff and community members during their 50-minute stop.
Lots of students received warm hugs from the players when they asked questions as well as enjoyed having their photo taken with the players. The Twins Caravan shared many positive messages about how students should listen to their teachers, do their homework and work hard in all that they do throughout their years in school and in life.
TC Bear and Wooly the Wolverine delighted students with their fun antics, which included a push-up contest refereed by Plouffe and a batting contest with Schafer pitching!
It was a GREAT day to be a Wolverine and a TWINS fan! Thank you, Bert, Tony, Trevor, Jordan, Cory and TC Bear for the awesome memories and we are looking forward to spring training! Special thanks to Rick Youngbauer and the KWAD/KNSP/KKWS staff for allowing WDC to host this wonderful event!
