Prairie Fire Children's Theatre presents 'Jack & the Beanstalk' at Wadena Memorial Auditorium
Forty-five youths, ages 6-15, put on an amazing show last weekend as part of the Prairie Fire Children's Theatre at Wadena Memorial Auditorium.
More than 300 people attended the two performances of "Jack & the Beanstalk," July 11 and 12, where the audience traveled up and down the beanstalk as Jack tried to save his village, meeting many characters along the way!
"The kids in the production did a wonderful job," said Kent Schmidt, who coordinates Prairie Fire Children's Theatre in Wadena. "I was very pleased with how many attended the performances. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the show."
The week-long Prairie Fire Chidlren’s Theatre Camp, July 7 to 12, included a cast of 45 youths ranging from 6 to 15 years old from Wadena and the surrounding area. The cast practiced a total of 10 hours under the direction of professional actors Alex Watson and Brianna Bernard. Watson and Bernard are members of the Prairie Fire touring camp, which is based out of Barrett, Minn.
This year’s performers included: Grace Olson, Jacob Olson, Megan Hamelau, Ava Peterson, Bailey Sundby, Faith Cottrell, Simon Kreklau, Brandon Adams, Kaylin Lupkes, Kendall Godel, Alyssa Heltemes, Ben Keppers, Katelyn Gardner, Kerri Bailey, Madison Olson, Maggie Carlson, Ryann Schmidt, Michael Schmidt, Zoe Schmidt, Kate Schmidt, Graci Hendershot, Gabriel Berger, Esther Berger, Lidia Ness, Levyn Rousslang, Zooey Rousslang, Alexis Rousslang, Kristen Peterson, KatieRae Fiemeyer, Anna Fiemeyer, Gavin Kiser, Olivia Delly, Madison Bauer, Morgen Bauer, Mia Arroyo, Tori Lee, Ronald Bernu, Chloe Leeseberg, Cadie Leeseberg, Abigail Haman, Eion Ness, Elyse Ness, Kylie Muchow, Matthew Schluttner and Lucy Gunelson. Tech crew included: Taylor Dirks and Beth Schmitz.
Schmidt said next year's production will be "Snow White" and will be held July 13 to 18 at Wadena Memorial Auditorium. Registration and Information will be available spring 2015.
