WDC students honored at Academic Recognition Breakfast, May 21
Wadena-Deer Creek High School held its annual Academic Recognition Program on Wednesday, May 21 in the Commons, where 70 students in grades 10-12 were recognized for academics and for their extra efforts in school and in the community.
The program started with students enjoying an egg bake, caramel rolls and juice served by the WDC Middle/High School cafeteria. WDC Grades 5-12 Principal Tyler Church, School Counselor Toni Kraska and Activities Director Norm Gallant introduced the honorees throughout the program.
The academic portion of the breakfast kicked off the program. This is for students in the sophomore, junior and senior classes, which have specific grade-point averages as criteria to receive this high honor. All of the students recognized received a certificate of scholastic achievement. Students who were honored for the first time received an academic badge and students who have previously received a badge received a star.
