Local Deer Hunters Association donates Large Mammal Curriculum Box to WDC
The Wadena chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association donated a large mammal curriculum box recently to Wadena-Deer Creek Public Schools.
The large beautifully decorated wooden box contains books, DVDs, information on endangered species, deer calls, fake deer antlers, a hunter’s backpack, posters and more. The curriculum lessons cost the Wadena chapter about $500.
WDC High School Agriculture/Industrial Arts teacher Richard Muckala, said the box will be shared between the science and agriculture teachers, as well as the FFA organization for the Fish & Wildlife team. WDC lost their original curriculum box in the June 17, 2010 tornado.
“To have a box again with new, updated materials will be greatly appreciated by teachers and students. Thank you to the local Deer Hunters Association chapter for replacing the box. We will put it to good use in our curriculum,” Muckala said.
