This year’s homecoming king is Nick Carlson, who is the son of Tina Emerson and Mike Carlson. The 2013 homecoming queen is Hope Theisen, the daughter of Judy and Dennis Theisen.
The reigning 2012 queen, Macy Hartman, crowned the new king and queen in dramatic fashion as she passed the crowns over the candidates’ heads. 2012 homecoming king Jeff Webb was unable to make the coronation ceremony. The homecoming king and queen are voted on by students in grades 9-12.
Members of the 2013 Homecoming Court include:
Paige Hartman, daughter of Deb and Bill Hartman
Brandee Bly, daughter of Connie Bly and John Bly
Heather Theisen, daughter of Judy and Dennis Theisen
Ella Harrison, daughter of Cheryl and Ric Harrison
Jacob Goeden, son of Gail and Kevin Goeden
Wyatt Weber, son of Tami Weber
Austin Hendershot, son of Mary and Dan Hendershot

The coronation’s masters of ceremonies were students AJ Tollefson and Adam Leverson. WDC’s parade marshals, Bruce and Joyce Uselman, were introduced. They thanked WDC for honoring them as parade marshals and encouraged students to continue to show their “unbeatable school spirit.”
WDC students Miranda Miller, Wade Piper, Matthew Quincer and Caleb Monson performed “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” as the processional and “Remembering Sunday” as a tribute to the homecoming candidates.
Homecoming week festivities conclude today with a parade at 2 p.m. and tonight when the Wolverine football team hosts the USA Patriots at 7 p.m. at the WDC Football Field. Following the football game is the Homecoming Dance for grades 9-12 students in the Middle/High School Commons.
Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in WDC’s Homecoming.
