The following camps/programs require separate registration forms. You can download them here or call the contact person for information.  Please do not use the Summer Rec registration form, as they require separate fees and registration forms. All of these forms can be found on WDC Schools’ website or at school offices. 


Preschool day camps

Ages: 3-5

WDC Preschool Teacher Miss Alicia hosts a variety of fun and educational Day Camps just for preschoolers, $10 each. WDC Elementary Room 29 (Enter Door 8 on Dayton Ave). Classes run from 9-11am.

Wadena youth baseball - little league

Wadena Youth Baseball is not a WDC Community Education-sponsored program, but rather is run as a youth organization and is coordinated/coached by Kyle Dykhoff.

2 MINOR Little League Teams – ages 9 and 10

2 MAJOR Little League Teams – ages 11 & 12*

*Age break: Cannot turn 13 before May 1.

Age: WDC grades 7-12 students

Tri-County Health Care and Wadena-Deer Creek High School are teaming up once again to provide a high-intensity sports enhancement program for male and female high school athletes. Instructors are Sarah Maninga, TCHC Athletic Trainer; and Courtney Volkmann, WDC assistant volleyball coach, who has a B.S. in Exercise Science. Open to WDC 7-12 athletes. 

Dates/Times: Mon/Wed/Thurs - June 5-July 20, 7-8:30am or 8-9:30am

PRAIRIE FIRE childrens THEATRE CAMP- "robin hood"

This summer’s week-long theater camp for children 7-18 years old, will present the “Robin Hood.” A fun theater experience for kids who want to get on stage for the first time and for those who are more “seasoned” actors.  Everyone who auditions will receive a part!  Auditions are Monday, July 10 at 1pm sharp at Wadena Memorial Auditorium.  Afternoon rehearsals, Tuesday-Friday, performances Friday night and Saturday morning.

This year’s theme for the 17th annual Central Minnesota Camp Madhatter is “Shake, Rattle and Roll.” Open to youth 8-18, this two-week day camp is directed by Robin Jensen and Justin Edin and focuses on the actor as a whole with professional instruction in drama, voice and dance. The camp will culminate in a free public performance on Aug 4 at 7pm. Camp fee charged.

If you are a WDC student or attend a neighboring school and will be 15 years old by Dec. 31, 2017, you are eligible to enroll in Wadena-Deer Creek’s summer drivers’ education program. Classroom instruction begins June 5 to 19, with morning and afternoon sessions to choose from. Registration forms available at WDC HS office or online at www.wdc2155.k12.mn.us. Fee: $275 for WDC students.

Summer Academic Boosters is available to WDC students in grades 1-4 from 8am to 2pm on the following dates at no cost:

June 5-8, June 12-15, July 31-Aug 3, Aug. 7-10

Academic Booster participants learn, strength and maintain reading, writing, math and social skills throughout the summer. Breakfast and lunch provided free of charge. No transportation provided by school; however, consider Friendly Rider as an option! Enrollment forms available at school offices or online on school’s website. This two-week course is free and open to WDC students in grades 5-8 who may need additional studies this summer.  Free breakfast and lunch provided by Summer Foods Program.
