Community Youth Camps

The following camps/programs require separate registration forms. You can download them here or call the contact person for information.  Please do not use the Summer Rec registration form, as they require separate fees and registration forms. All of these forms can be found on WDC Schools’ website or at school offices. 

PRAIRIE FIRE childrens THEATRE CAMP- "A midsummer night's dream"

This summer’s week-long theater camp for children 7-18 years old, will present the “A Midsummer Night's Dream.” A fun theater experience for kids who want to get on stage for the first time and for those who are more “seasoned” actors.  Everyone who auditions will receive a part!  Auditions are Monday, July 10 at 1pm sharp at Wadena Memorial Auditorium.  Afternoon rehearsals, Tuesday-Friday, performances Friday night and Saturday morning. 

Dates: July 9-14

Cost: $30 (includes a Prairie Fire T-shirt!)

This year’s theme for the 17th annual Central Minnesota Camp Madhatter is “Shake, Rattle and Roll.” Open to youth 8-18, this two-week day camp is directed by Robin Jensen and Justin Edin and focuses on the actor as a whole with professional instruction in drama, voice and dance. The camp will culminate in a free public performance on Aug 3 at 7pm. Camp fee charged.

Summer Academic Boosters is available to WDC students in grades 1-4 from 8am to 2pm on the following dates at no cost:

 June 4-7, June 11-14, June 18-21

Academic Booster participants learn, strength and maintain reading, writing, math and social skills throughout the summer. Breakfast and lunch provided free of charge. No transportation provided by school; however, consider Friendly Rider as an option! Enrollment forms available at school offices or online on school’s website. This two-week course is free and open to WDC students in grades 5-8 who may need additional studies this summer.  Free breakfast and lunch provided by Summer Foods Program.

Grades 5-6: Mon.-Thurs., June 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 8am to 2pm

Grades 7-8: June 19-23 & 26-30
